Ogg Vorbis. It's an audio compression standard that works in much the same way as mp3. I've been using it since 2001, it was slightly better compression back then, I'm told it's now twice as good as mp3, and to me it's just become part of the scenery, as things do. Stage set for a funny the other day. I opened up an Ogg Vorbis file on my Mac expecting iTunes to handle it. No joy. This puzzles me deeply, so I mention it to my nephews later.
Me> I tried to play an Ogg Vorbis file earlier but iTunes wouldn't have anything to do with it.
Moggyman (23)> *frowns and looks the other way*
Wookiefeet (18)> *gives me a strange look*
Me> *returns the strange look* Y'know, Ogg Vorbis, audio compression, dot-ogg files...
Moggyman> *makes disturbed-sounding noises*
Wookiefeet> *looks disturbed*
Me> ...
Moggyman> What's Ogg Vor-what's it called?
Wookiefeet> *looks ashamed*
Me> *lightbulb* You've never heard of Ogg Vorbis?
Moggyman> No. *he's got that "should we have?" look*
Wookiefeet> *still looks disturbed*
Anyway, I go on to explain, and stuff's said about mp3 having been around for 10 years while Ogg V's only been around for 5 & stuff which partially explains things and it gets normal after that, but I thought I'd share the above dialog. ^.^
Edit: Just edited my bio, got rid of one rant, intended not to write another, but hey. At least the new rant's on slightly more factual lines.

Out of touch, too far ahead of the times, or just plain Funkeh?
